Nievera Williams is one of the leading landscape
architecture firms in the country.

A history of
evocative landscapes

As landscape architects, we always pride ourselves in creating landscapes of the highest quality, using design principles consistent with classical design orders, as well considering symmetry, proportion, and balance. The uniqueness of our projects is derived from design sensitivity to our environment, the physical surroundings of the site, and the culture of the surrounding community. Most of all, our projects reflect the desires of our client, and our commitment to providing the highest level of professional service. We credit our passionate clients, dedicated allied professionals, and talented craftsman who have supported our projects, working hand in hand to produce amazing landscapes.

How we work

  • Nievera Williams Design starts each project with an analysis of existing conditions, studying environmental conditions, quality of soil, water availability, views, and accessibility to a site, which informs our ability to create an appropriate site design.

  • The primary goal is to complement the existing architecture rather than outshine it. Designers focus on creating a cohesive whole by collaborating closely with architects and interior designers.

  • Our Designs emphasize local materials that look like they belong to the region, such as coral stones and cypress in Florida, or granite and bluestone in northern climates.

  • Nievera Williams is known for balancing color, light, form, and texture. Keith Williams and Mario Nievera often describes their style as a mix of "order and chaos," juxtaposing clipped green shrub forms with wilder, "out of control" elements like gravel and butterfly-friendly native plants.

  • We often utilize a "green-on-green" palette, variations of greens, silvers, and olive tones along with purely flowering plants.  Native and Low water plants are carefully intergrated into our Planting Plans to insure a continued ecological balance throughout our projects.
